It’s that time of year when spring practices pick up in intensity, and it seems like all we do is report injury news. On Thursday it was reported that corner back Sheroid Evans will miss the rest of spring practice with a knee injury, and now Texas has lost another starter on defense. On Friday the Longhorns announced that linebacker Dalton Santos hurt his ankle in practice.
Everyone please pray for my boy @Daltonsantos55 hope you heal quick buddy!

Not much has been made public about the extent of the senior’s injury other than he will be evaluated by team physicians and more information will be released when it’s available.
Santos saw seven starts in 2013, and recorded 68 tackles including eight for a loss. Last season however, he played behind Steve Edmond. Santos only played in 10 games, where he earned 11 total tackles. With Steve’s departure, Santos is expected to be a starter once again for the 2015 season. Santos has also contributed to special teams coverage the last three seasons.
Texas doesn’t have a lot of depth on the defensive side of the ball, so hopefully Santos and Evans can make quick recoveries.
