On Monday o-lineman Tyler Tezeno posted to Instagram that he will be transferring from West Virginia. The redshirt sophomore is headed to Sam Houston state in an effort to receive more playing time.
Tezeno didn’t see the field much as a Mountaineer, and the move will send him closer to home. He came to West Virginia in 2013 as a three-star recruit out of Houston, Texas, and after redshirting his freshman year he was barely played in 2014.
It’s not a huge blow to the Mountaineers, but with fellow o-lineman Russell Haughton-James’ fate still unknown following a burglary arrest, depth up front could start to become a concern.
Since Sam Houston State is an NCAA Division II school Trezeno won’t have to sit a year to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, and will be eligible to play right away
