Could Texas and Oklahoma be giving in to the uniform craze sweeping across the college football landscape? If one report is to be believed, that’s exactly what’s happening.
Along with OU and Texas, other schools mentioned are Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon. Oregon basically wears a new uniform every game, but for schools like Alabama and Texas it would be a major change.
The Nike t-shirts shown above have been available for purchase for a while, and I couldn’t help but notice that they have a strong resemblance to the practice jerseys already worn by the Longhorns.
Nobody should freak out too soon though. Schools get pitched alternate uni options all the time, but that doesn’t mean they’ll see the field. Oklahoma has already shot down the report. Despite bringing the wood last season, Oklahoma Senior Associate Athletics Director Kenny Mossman says there’s no new uniforms this season.

OU wasn’t the only one nixing the rumor either. Georgia, who’s worn black in the past, also denied the report, and even Andrew Lind himself pointed out that it seems unlikely for the Longhorns as well.
Somewhat surprising to hear Texas will have a black alternate jersey just days after head coach Charlie Strong said the team would not.

We’re just going to have to wait and see, but what do you think? Would you like to see OU and Texas mix up their uni game, or is it too unholy to even think about?
