[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he beauty of a nine-game conference slate is that teams only have room for three non-conference games. Most of the Big 12 has a patsy scheduled as they iron out the kinks before entering the meat grinder that is the conference play.
SMU at TCU
Date: Saturday, September 19th
Where: Fort Worth, TX
Once again the “Battle for the Iron Skillet” will resemble more of a beat down than a competitive affair. The Frogs, unsurprisingly, have owned this series since the turn of the century winning 12 of 14 games.
Last year the Top 10 Frogs slapped around the woeful Ponies 56-0, amassing 614 yards of total offense and an eye-popping nine sacks. I don’t see this one being any more competitive. TCU is prime for an outstanding year, while SMU is in transition under 1st year head coach Chad Morris.
This has all the makings of a shellacking. Give me The Frogs to batter and bruise their rivals from Dallas.
