The first week of college football is a little more than 24 hours away, but there’s a little piece of news about week two. Oklahoma travels to Knoxville, TN this year in one of the most anticipated non-conference matchups of the season! In a press conference today, Tennessee head coach Butch Jones announced the Vols have plans to get the most out of their home field advantage. They’re going to checker Neyland Stadium with alternating white and orange sections.

This will be just the second time that Neyland Stadium has been checkered. They first accomplished the feat just last fall when the Vols organized the checkering of the stadium in what ended up being a 10-9 loss against their rival Florida.
You’ll probably remember that last season Sooner fans striped Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in alternating crimson and cream for the Vols visit. A game in which Oklahoma drummed Tennessee 34-10.
