Last month it was reported that a couple of Horned Frogs were in some legal trouble. Defensive end Mike Tuaua and receiver Andre Petties-Wilson were arrested on felony robbery charges for allegedly beating up a fellow student and stealing his beer; a case of Keystone Light. All this was after they were allegedly kicked out of a party for breaking a window, and “making other guests uncomfortable”.
The pair have been suspended from the team, but on Monday Coach Patterson announced that they have been cleared by a TCU judiciary committee, and allowed to return to the team.
Tuaua and Petties-Wilson have been cleared to return to the practice field, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll see the playing field anytime soon. While they’ve been cleared by the school, they still face legal proceedings, and coach Patterson could elect to hold them out. Although, he didn’t indicate whether or not they would play.
Getting Tuaua back would be a little bit of good news for a defense that’s been riddled with injuries since the season began. Petties-Wilson has yet to see any game action, but that could change should Kolby Listenbee’s injury linger.
