[tps_header]Finally every Big 12 team was in action this weekend so let the madness begin! Saturday provided us with some very interesting match-ups and, as always, one of the funnest aspects is watching the quarterbacks improve and evolve. Or in some cases take a few steps back. Nevertheless, the Big 12 pot is spilling over with talented QB’s and we’re getting a clearer picture of who are the contenders and who are the pretenders. Let’s see how the week 5 rankings shake out. We’d love to hear from you so chime in with what you would change.[/tps_header]

10. Jerrod Heard (Texas)

This is a ranking of QB’s only so I won’t go into the current depths of disaster Texas football now finds itself in. However Jerrod Heard’s impressive performances against Rice and Cal now seem like ages ago after this week’s embarrassing showing.  He completed only 40% of his passes and, like the rest of the UT squad, Heard seemed to be playfully toyed with by TCU. He was mercifully pulled to make way for Swoopes in the third quarter. Heard accounted for 71 total yards and that includes a 22-yard run. Let’s just move on.
