On Sunday the updated AP Poll, Coaches Poll, and Sagarin rankings for week 8 were released. To no one’s surprise Baylor remains in the second spot in all three rankings after their win over a reeling West Virginia team. TCU’s road struggles continued on Saturday when they fell behind Iowa State 21-14 in the first quarter before putting the Cyclones away with 31 unanswered points in the final three quarters. The Horned Frogs remained in third place in Coaches Poll and Sagarin rankings however they fell to fourth in the AP Poll.
Oklahoma State enjoyed a much-needed bye and watched as teams ahead them lost. The net effect of their weekend off saw the Cowboys moving up two spots in the AP Poll to 14th and three spots in the Coaches Poll to take the 12th spot.
Oklahoma did their best to right their ship with a 55-0 beat down of Kansas State in Manhattan the week after a disastrous loss in the Red River Showdown to Texas. They moved up two spots in the AP Poll to 17th and four spots to 15th in the Coaches Poll. Surprisingly the Sooners moved up three spots to fourth in the Sagarin rankings.
Texas Tech received votes in both polls after surviving a potential trap game at Kansas. The Red Raiders were the only other Big 12 team outside of the top 25 in each poll receiving votes.
