I’m not going to lie to you, this was not a pretty week for Big 12 quarterbacks. The gunslingers have officially been bitten by the injury bug as defenses seem to be in seek-and-destroy mode.
Teams are having to dip into their second and even third string QB reserves to keep their offenses going. On one hand, we’re getting to see some encouraging looks at some of the conference’s young, up-and-coming talent. On the other, as teams are making playoff and bowl-game pushes the time is not exactly ideal to lose a starting signal-caller. Not to mention it wreaks havoc on the quarterback rankings which came out very interesting.
The QB’s included are the one’s who had the most passing attempts for their team.
8. Ryan Willis (KANSAS)
Yikes. Thank goodness it’s basketball season. Fresh off of a week where Willis and KU almost knocked off high-caliber TCU, this West Virginia match up actually developed an interest factor. Not so much as it turns out. Frankly speaking Willis, and the entire Kansas squad, was abysmal.
He completed only 35.1% of his passes with no touchdowns and three interceptions. The Willis-led Jayhawks were just two of 15 on third downs. I just can’t talk about this anymore.
