Sunday’s release of the week 13 AP Poll, Coaches Poll, and Sagarin Ratings have the four ranked Big 12 teams shifting around after a wild rivalry weekend.
In the weekend’s marquee game, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State squared off to decide the Big 12, with the Sooners emerging as the victors. The win moved Oklahoma up to third in the AP Poll and fourth in the Coaches Poll. The win also resulted in the Sooners being crowned the Big 12 Champion to go along with being the Big 12’s highest ranked team. Unfortunately for Oklahoma State their late season slide down the polls continued after losing their last two games the Cowboys are now ranked 14th in both polls.
In the weekend’s other key rivalry game TCU and Baylor played a sloppy rain-soaked game in Fort Worst. The Horned Frogs eventually won the game in double overtime after stopping the Bears last attempt to gain a first down on fourth and one. The win vaulted TCU up to 11th in both the AP and Coaches Polls. For Baylor they moved down to a season low 12th in both polls. Baylor won’t have to wait long for their next opponent since they host Texas this Saturday at noon.
The Big 12’s top teams continued to move down in the Sagarin Ratings which makes sense with the top four teams all playing each other in the last four weeks of the season. Oklahoma remains the highest ranked team at second in the rankings with Baylor following at fifth, TCU at seventh and Oklahoma State seventeenth this week. West Virginia moved up to 22nd this week in the Sagarin Ratings. With two Big 12 games remaining and the Conference Champion already crowned it looks like a waiting game for the top teams in the conference to find out where they’ll be playing bowl games.
