The next time we see the Mountaineers take the field in Morgantown, it will be on brand new turf.

The new turf replaces the old playing surface from 2007 and is part of a larger $45 million stadium renovation project.
The new turf brings a few new design changes as well. The center flying WV logo has been enlarged while the two Big 12 logos are slightly smaller. The biggest change though, took place underneath the artificial grass. The midfield crown – where if the coaches were to look across the field they wouldn’t be able see each other’s legs below the knee – has been removed.
