The Cyclones are having a pretty good Monday. Duke safety Evrett Edwards just tweeted out that he will be transferring to Iowa State.

Edwards, a three-star recruit out of Woodbridge, VA, was member of the Blue Devils’ 2013 class.  Over the last two seasons he has played in 12 games and recorded 26 total tackles and an interception.

Before Edwards announced his decision to transfer in March, He was tabbed as Duke’s primary backup at safety behind Deondre Singleton.

Perhaps the best news for the Cyclones is that despite only being a redshirt junior, Edwards will be able to play immediately as a graduate transfer. He arrived on campus early as a freshman and will graduate from Duke this spring.
