Ken Starr is out as president of Baylor, and has been “reassigned” to school chancellor following the findings of the Pepper Hamilton report being made public.
Earlier this afternoon Starr released a statement addressing the news, and clarifies that he’s reached an agreement, as he said, “in principle” with Baylor’s Board of Regents. Exactly why “in principle” is italicized and underlined is unclear, but seems odd.
He goes on to clarify that he had no knowledge of a cover up, and when he first heard of something in 2015, he asked for an investigation into how sexual assault claims have been handled.
Here’s the full statement.
