To say Art Briles has come under fire recently, may be the understatement of the century. The cries for the head of Baylor’s football coach have been deafening in the wake of the scandal involving multiple sexual assaults by football players.

Under Briles tenure these last eight years, Baylor football has risen from the annual cupcake on everyone’s schedule to a two-time conference champion and national power.
It is expected that defensive coordinator Phil Bennett will be the Bears’ interim head coach for the 2016 season.
The timing of the firing comes as the Pepper Hamilton report is expected to be released. Multiple outlets have indicated the report could be released as early as today.
