Filling in for injured Daniel Wise, D.J. Williams started at defensive tackle for Kansas last Saturday against TCU. Now, he isn’t even on the team.

Williams is no longer listed on the roster, and a school spokesperson confirmed to KUSports.com that he no longer plays for the Jayhawks. ¬†Citing a “violation of team rules” the exact reason for Williams’ dismissal is unknown.

A three-star recruit out of Lufkin, TX, Williams joined KU as part of the 2014 class, but redshirted his freshman year. Last season, Williams saw time as part of the defensive line rotation and played in eight games.

With 3 total tackles this season, his Jayhawk career will come to an end with 14 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a strip.

Hopefully Williams can address whatever issues he needs to, and make the most of his remaining three years of eligibility somewhere else.
