Baylor’s big day continues on, as they secured a huge commitment from 3 star defensive end Justin Harris just moments ago. Harris chose Baylor over his other finalists, LSU, Ole Miss, and Purdue, though LSU was thought to be the main competition.
That main competition was where many thought Harris would land, until he took his official visit to Baylor on January 27th. Immediately after that visit, the rumors of a silent commitment began swirling, and Baylor seemed to surge in to the lead. There was some concern today around Baylor circles, as LSU finally officially offered Harris, but it turned out to be nothing, with Harris choosing the Bears at his high school.

The addition of Harris gives Baylor 27 commitments, 26 of them being 3-stars, and brings them within 0.03 points of Oklahoma State in the 247 class rankings.
Harris fills a big need for Baylor. He’s a long, speedy edge rusher, and if he can improve his footwork he could be causing havoc in Big 12 backfields for the next 4 years.
