TCU added three big pieces to an already very good class today, as they picked up commitments from Louisiana wide receiver Al’Dontre Davis, Texas defensive end Terrell Cooper, and Washington offensive guard Quazzel White. These three are TCU’s 19th, 20th, and 21st commitments, as well as the 11th and 12th 3 stars. With these pick ups, TCU has jumped over Colorado and Michigan State, moving them to 31st in the 247sports class rankings. We’ll be taking a look at all three players, starting with Davis.

Al’Dontre Davis

Al’Dontre Davis Lutcher, LA WR 100 ⭐⭐⭐

The 6’0 185 pound wideout flew under the radar quite a bit in this recruiting cycle. He put up great numbers on a very good Lutcher football team, picking up 1769 yards and 24 scores on 102 receptions in two years as a varsity receiver.

He’ll likely be a slot receiver for TCU, and could play a very familiar role in a couple of years for TCU, as he plays a lot like current TCU wideout KaVontae Turpin.

Terrell Cooper

Next up is Terrell Cooper. He’s a bit of a reach, as he’s only a 2 star prospect, but TCU thinks they’ve uncovered a gem. He was a last-minute offer for Gary Patterson, receiving his offer just two days ago. He acted quickly on that offer, and he’ll be a Horned Frog next season.

Terrell Cooper Lindale, TX DE 108 ⭐⭐

Cooper didn’t have any other P5 offers, choosing TCU over offers from Memphis, North Texas, and Texas State. Cooper is the fifth defensive line commit in this class, making it more than obvious that Gary Patterson knew he needed to add size to a struggling unit, and Cooper certainly brings size on the edge.

The 6’2, 258 defensive end isn’t going to beat many lineman with his speed, but he’s an absolute mauler, and he’s got a great motor. He’s very strong, but very raw. If he can get his hands and feet better, he could be an all Big 12 kind of guy in a couple of years.

Quazzel White

The final commitment expected in this TCU class, Quazzel White made it official today, faxing in his LOI and ending his winding recruitment. The massive, athletic offensive guard became an obvious option for TCU a few weeks ago, when he decommitted from Washington State after committing to Mike Leach back in November. The decommitment came following an offer from, and visit to TCU. Soon after that saga, it became apparent that White would be a Horned Frog.

TCU was pretty much the only team in consideration for White late in the process, though I suppose this could still be considered a victory over Washington State.

The 6’3.5, 305 pound White fulfills a huge need for TCU, as he’s a massive offensive lineman, and could see the field very quickly at guard, or possible at tackle if he can get stronger. He’s got a big frame, but moves very well for someone as big as he is. TCU thinks they got a steal here, and it’s hard to disagree. He’s raw, as most 3 stars are, but he could be a huge part of TCU’s line in a couple of years.
