After the last year, Baylor is in desperate need of some positive off-the-field news for a change, but the news that’s coming out of Waco tonight isn’t good. The Waco Tribune is reporting late Monday evening, that strength and conditioning coach Brandon Washington was arrested in a prostitution sting over the weekend.

McLennan County sheriffs arrested Washington Saturday morning at a local hotel on a solicitation of prostitution charge, a class B misdemeanor.

Baylor, who has been heavily criticized for how they have handled several sexual assault cases, was swift to act regarding Washington. The school has since terminated the assistant coach who came over from Temple with the Bear’s new head coach Matt Rhule.

“After a full criminal background check was completed and cleared, Brandon Washington was recently hired as an assistant in the Football Strength and Conditioning area. Baylor was notified on February 4 of Brandon Washington’s arrest and terminated his employment immediately that day.

“When we arrived at Baylor we made a commitment to character and integrity in our program,” Rhule said in a statement. “Brandon’s actions are completely unacceptable. We will not tolerate conduct that is contradictory to these values.”
