It has not been a good year, legally speaking, for former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin. He charged with assault in June of last year after fighting with officers at a bar in San Antonio, TX, before the Alamo Bowl in December of 2015. Then last month, Boykin found himself in handcuffs after the car he was in crashed into a bar in Dallas, TX. Boykin was not the driver, but he was arrested on marijuana and public intoxication charges.
And now it is being reported that the now Seattle Seahawks QB has been arrested yet again.
The latest arrest actually stems from his previous two arrests. Prosecutors believe that Boykin’s arrest last month was a violation of his one year probation that was set following his earlier altercation, and issued a warrant.
Boykin was arrested on Thursday afternoon and has since posted the $2,500 bail. His arraignment is scheduled for May 3.
As far as what all this means for his NFL future, it is too early to know for sure. It obviously can’t be good. Boykin was brought to Seattle as an undrafted rookie, but so far the franchise has been mum on Boykin’s future; simply stating that they are aware of the situation and are disappointed.
