Kansas State Hires New Athletic Director In Gene Taylor
The Wildcats hire Gene Taylor away from Iowa.
When John Currie took off for Tennessee, Kansas State was left with quite a vacancy to fill. On Friday the Wildcats announced that they have found their man. Iowa’s deputy athletic director Gene Taylor will take over as K-State’s new Director of Athletics.
Taylor graduated from Arizona State in 1980 and has a long tenure in various roles within college athletic administrations. He spent 15 years at Navy before taking the athletic director position at North Dakota State in 2001. He spent 13 years there and helped oversee the Bison’s transition from Division II athletics to Division I. In 2014, he took the deputy athletic director job at Iowa.
