The Votes Are In, Here’s How You Ranked The Big 12
We asked you all to give us your preseason Big 12 rankings, and who came out on top may surprise you.
A couple of week ago we ran a poll and asked you all to rank the Big 12 heading into the 2017 season. You didn’t disappoint. We have run the numbers, solved for x, and now we are ready to unveil how you all voted.
The final rankings are pretty straight forward. After eliminating entries that had more than one vote per team, we simply multiplied the number of votes for each school by the rank the vote was for. So, the school with the fewest total points is first and the school with the most points is last.
No team dominated a ranking the way the Jayhawks owned the 10 spot. They received 86 percent of the vote for last place. That’s not really a surprise though. With the lone exception being an upset win over Texas last season, Jayhawk football fans have not had much to be excited about since the days of coach Mark Mangino. However, that win over the Longhorns has at least a couple of you believing in the job coach David Beaty is doing in Lawrence, as 14 percent of you had KU somewhere other than last.
