Fall camps are underway and leading up to the start of the college football season, we are going to look at the skill position groups by highlighting a key stat or data point for each team in the Big 12. We will be kicking our series off by taking a by the numbers look at the conference’s running backs.
With all the love and attention given to the quarterbacks and wide receivers, rushing yards in the Big 12 accounted for 41 percent of the total yardage gained last season. Although, five Big 12 teams (Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas State and West Virginia) finished in the top 25 in rush yards.
The Big 12 enters this season with some big names to replace. Joe Mixon, Samaje Perine, Chris Carson and D’Onta Foreman are going to be playing on Sundays this year, so it will be interesting to see who steps up to be this years breakout back. Hit next and let’s look at the numbers.
