The Longhorns are currently locked in a defensive battle with USC out on the west coast, but while they’ve kept the Trojans off the scoreboard, it looks like they’ve suffered a significant loss.
Left tackle Connor Williams, and anchor along the offensive line, went down in the first quarter and looked to be in a fair amount of pain. He was eventually helped to the sideline, and it is now being reported that Williams will not return to the field.

It’s a significant loss for Texas. Not only is Williams one of the best players on the team, if not the best. He was named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team. The Longhorns don’t have much depth behind him, either. Tristan Nickelson, a senior, is the next man up. Nickelson played in eight games last year.
There is no word as to the extent of the injury just yet, or if he will miss any significant time.
Currently, the Longhorns and the Trojans are tied up with seven a piece with just seconds until halftime.
