It has been 29 college football weeks since ESPN College GameDay has visited a Big 12 campus, but the counter will reset this weekend! GameDay has announced they will be going to Fort Worth this weekend for the matchup between the Mountaineers and the Horned Frogs.

For the Big 12, it’s a welcomed opportunity to be on the national stage. For West Virginia and TCU, it may be an omen to how the game will turn out.

The Mountaineers have been featured on College GameDay three times before; two times being at home. However, they are just 1-2 in those matchups with the lone win coming against Clemson in a monster 70-33 performance in the 2012 Orange Bowl.

TCU has been featured on GameDay five times before, and they won all five games. In fact, the Horned Frogs are the only team that has been featured by GameDay three or more times and are undefeated in those games.

Both teams have been featured just once since joining the Big 12, and it was when they played each other in 2014. The Horned Frogs traveled to Morgantown ranked 10th in the country and outlasted the 20th-ranked Mountaineers 31-30.

This time around, TCU is ranked 8th in the country, while West Virginia comes to Fort Worth ranked 23rd.
