Staff Picks: TCU at Iowa State

There hasn’t been a top 25 matchup in Ames since… well, at least 2005, because that was the last time the Cyclones were ranked. Will Iowa State pull off the upset, or will the spotlight be too much as TCU gets the job done behind the methodical play that’s gotten them to 7-0. We make our picks.

CHRIS – TCU has the advantage in almost every statistical category, and I would not be surprised to see the Horned Frogs win big. However, something is telling me to pick Iowa State in this one. I think we see running back David Montgomery shine in an upset as TCU dares the Cyclones to run the ball.

JAY – Should be a tough game. The cold matters, and so does Kenny Hill’s regression.

MYERS – Iowa State has been talked up more than TCU this week. That Horned Frog defense will hold the Cyclones to under 20, and Kenny Hill will continue to roll. TCU wins.

TAYLOR – This is the toughest defense Iowa State will have faced all year. It’s going to be a tough game, but the TCU running game will put this one away in the fourth.

JOSH – Frogs lose the turnover margin, but win a close game on the road.

DANIEL – The cold may be a factor. Plus, Ames is where national title hopes and dreams go to die. This win also makes Matt Campbell the hottest name on the coaching carousel and the number one choice for Tennessee.

The staff is split 3-3 on this one, but at nearly 2-1, the majority of you all believe TCU will get it done on the road.
