Staff Picks: Texas at Baylor

The staff makes their picks for the Texas-Baylor Game.

Staff Picks: Texas at Baylor

The Longhorns are looking to build some momentum, while Baylor is looking for their first win of the season. Here’s our predictions for the game.

Chris Jay Myers Taylor Josh Daniel Twitter

CHRIS – Both teams are looking for a break through. Baylor has shown capable of getting a win, though it hasn’t come yet, while Texas has shown capable of contending with the top of the conference. Longhorns are just too much in this one, though the offense is going to have to show something with Shane Buechele under center.

JAY – Defense is too disruptive for Baylor to get a foothold, but it will be competitive. Texas has to find a way to run the ball consistently.

MYERS – Texas’ defense is just too good. I also expect quarterback Shane Buechele and the offense to finally show some production against a suspect Baylor defense. Texas wins comfortably.

TAYLOR – Very tempted to pick Baylor in this one after hearing that Ehlinger was out, but the Texas defense will have Baylor in fits most of the night. Eventually the talent level on the Longhorn’s offense will be enough to pull away from Baylor.

JOSH – Baylor covers the spread, but Horns manage to break 30.

DANIEL – Baylor is looking better by the week, but Texas has shutdown better offenses. Don’t expect the Longhorn’s offense to blow up. Ehlinger is still in UT’s concussion protocol. The offense struggled under Buechele before, which will be enough to keep the score closer than Vegas predicts. However, Baylor’s defensive line will be worn down by the end of the game, and Texas gets the win.

Twitter also favored the Longhorns with a 70 percent to 30 percent vote.
