With the first play of the game, Oklahoma State running back Justice Hill took off down the sideline for a 39-yard gain. After the second play of the game Hill was being escorted to the locker room.
West Virginia safety Kyzir White met Hill with emphasis three yards beyond the line of scrimmage, forcing the turnover. White is known as a big hitter and Hill came up holding his arm.

Hill was taken back to the locker room and has not returned to the game. According to the ABC television report, Hill is being treated for head, neck and leg pain. He later returned to the sideline in full pads with his helmet, but has not returned to the game yet.
The loss of Hill is a tough blow for Oklahoma State, as he leads the Big 12 in rushing. However, Freshman running back J.D. King has filled in admirably in Hills absence. He’s gotten the majority of the workload in Hills’s absence and, with the game in the third quarter, has 113 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown.
