Kicker Austin Seibert earned Special Teams Player of the Week with two made field goals, eight, yes eight, extra points made and handled punting and kickoff duties for the Sooners. And the third Sooner named was Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week as he vaulted to the Heisman betting favorite behind a 598-yard passing and six total touchdowns performance.
The only non-Sooner named this week was Duke Shelley of Kansas State. Shelly earned Defensive Player of the Week honors with his performance against Texas Tech. He totaled four tackles and had a pick-six in the game.
