We’re back, after missing last week due to some scheduling and audio issues. My (Patrick) audio is a little wonky still because I’m trying to break in a new system that should be better in the long run, but it’s nothing too bad. This week, we start off by giving thanks to youth coaches, and Jay gives a shoutout to a personal friend. We go into some of the recent coaching news, including Kendal Briles to Houston, Matt Rhule interviewing with the Colts, Glenn Spencer’s firing, and Kevin Sumlin to Arizona.
We also spend some time looking back on the 2017-2018 season, as we recap the championship games, talk about the most and least impressive coaches, reminisce about our favorite moments from the season, and share what we’re looking forward to in the 2018 season.
Lastly, we introduce a new offseason segment that we’re really looking forward to: the classic game of the week, in which we share a classic game that we’ll be watching, and encourage you to watch it as well, and discuss said game on the next episode. Think of it as our version of a book club. This week’s game is Nebraska vs Tennessee in the 1998 Orange Bowl, and can be watched in its entirety here. If you’re looking for an abridged version (sans classic commercials as well), you can find that here. If you want to get involved with the discussion, please send us any thoughts or questions you have about the game on twitter, at @TheOVPod.
If you enjoyed the episode, or if you didn’t, please leave a review, or tweet at us at @TheOVPod, it really helps us out a bunch. We also take questions over there, so make sure to get your questions in when we send out requests. If you have any topics you’d like to suggest, please feel free to tweet them to us, once again, at @TheOVPod.
