Kansas Wins First Road Game Since 2009!

The Jayhawks broke a 46-game streak in the best way.

Who had Kansas winning against Central Michigan today? Put your hand down, you know you’re lying.

I have never been so happy to be wrong about a pick as the Jayhawks picked up their first road win since 2009. Let that sink in. The last time Kansas won a road game everyone was complaining about the BCS and rocking a iPhone 3GS.

You think the game meant something to the team?

Ya, I think it did as it broke a 46-game road streak. And the best part? It wasn’t even close. After a scoreless first quarter, the Jayhawks methodically pulled away from the Chippewas; winning 31-7.

Pooka Williams, who didn’t play last week, is a game changer for KU. He rushed for 125 yards on 14 carries and recorded two touchdowns.

After the dismal performance last week, an emphatic win is everything David Beaty and Co. could have asked for. All of a sudden, a win next week, and a 2-1 start to the season, seems a lot like a real possibility. Not to mention, it would go a long way to cooling Beaty’s seat.
