Caleb Johnson entered the transfer portal a few weeks ago, and no we know where the former Texas linebacker will land.
An unofficial visit to Chip Kelly and the UCLA Bruins on Tuesday has led to Johnson verbally committing to UCLA. Johnson, a Southern California native, appears to be heading back home to continue his college football career.
The 6-foot, 230-pound junior linebacker recorded one tackle this year, during the matchup in Houston against Rice.
Amid the rumors flying about, Johnson has allegedly stated that part of his decision was him not feeling like he fit in well at Texas and with the Longhorns team.
UCLA has been the front-runner since the beginning of this transfer process. The primary reason and appeal to Johnson was how close to home the Bruins are. He’ll be available to join them in Los Angeles at the end of the 2019 season.
From JUCO Fullerton College, to University of Texas at Austin, to UCLA. Good luck in your journey Caleb.
