4. Jerrod Heard (TEXAS)

Really, Texas?? Just when everybody has written the eulogy on your season you go and upset the highly ranked Sooners. Again. Heard, working with what seemed to be a very vanilla playbook, did what he does best which is keeping the ball on the ground and making defenders miss. And man did he do it effectively churning up 115 of the Longhorn’s 313 rushing yards. Even though he only completed eight passes, he had only 11 attempts which was good for a 72.7% completion rate. He also accounted for a passing touchdown and, most importantly, he took care of the ball giving it to the Sooners zero times. This was a great overall team effort from Texas and Heard certainly played a role.
