We thought we would try something new this week, and make some game picks as a staff. Oh, and if you’re following us on Twitter, you also got a vote! Let us know what you think of the new post in the comments, and let’s get to the picks!

TCU at Kansas State

Chris Ross – The Horned Frogs are a team waiting to be exposed, but the Wildcats have not shown to be a team to do it. Give me TCU.

Matt Myers – I see it as a low scoring defensive game being an early kick. TCU’s offense is too much in the end and they pull away in the third.

Taylor Midkiff – Frogs stack the box to make Alex Delton, who is starting in place of Jesse Ertz, throw the ball and give up some big plays in the process. TCU gets enough stops to leave Manhattan with the win.

Josh Cowan – Wildcats win with defense getting turnovers and special teams.

All aboard the Horned Frog bandwagon!

Texas Tech at West Virginia

Chris Ross – Texas Tech has two quality wins. WVU has zero. Give me the proven versus the unproven. I’m picking Tech.

Matt Myers – Texas Tech will have trouble stopping Crawford and Grier in Morgantown. Kyzir White and company will make a few stops before WVU pulls away.

Taylor Midkiff – I have no real feel for this game, but think that WVU has more talent overall.

Josh Cowan – Tech plays feisty on the road but WVU is too dynamic on offense.

By far the closest result.

Kansas at Iowa State

Chris Ross – Matt Campbell has transformed the Cyclones into a team that can win in any given week. Kansas is not. If Iowa State can avoid the hangover, they should win this one pretty easily. I wouldn’t expect them to cover the massive 22.5 point spread though.

Matt Myers – Iowa State continues to roll and is quietly joining the picture of competing for a trip to Dallas come December,.

Taylor Midkiff – Campbell is a good enough coach to make sure there is no let down game. ISU coasts to a pretty easy win.

Josh Cowan – Iowa State wins hangover game on legs of running back David Montgomery.

Anybody remember the last time the Cyclones were such a heavy favorite over another Power 5 team?

Baylor at Oklahoma State

Chris Ross – The Cowboys silly mistakes finally caught up to them against TCU, and they managed to out last Texas Tech, but the mistakes were still there. They need to show they can play a clean game of football. However, the Pokes would have to literally not show up in order to lose this game.

Matt Myers – Oklahoma State plays their best game since Pitt and obliterates an injury ridden Baylor team.

Taylor Midkiff – Game is close for a quarter, but the Cowboys pull away early in the second. Just too much talent.

Josh Cowan – I think this is a boring one. Bears get points in garbage time, but it’s a blowout.

And you all make it a Cowboy sweep.

Oklahoma vs Texas

Chris Ross – Texas is on the way back. There is little doubt about the direction Tom Herman has them going in. However, give me OU in this one. The Sooners were gut-checked last week, and I expect to see them rebound in a big way. I wouldn’t be surprised if they win this one in the neighborhood of 45-17.

Matt Myers – Herman has a knack for getting his players ready for big games. Texas found their QB in Ehlinger, and the defense will give OU trouble. Texas 38-31

Taylor Midkiff – Oklahoma will have the best quarterback on the field on Saturday, that will be enough to tip the scales in favor of the Sooners.

Josh Cowan – Hard to predict this game w two new coaches, but I think this one comes down to lines of scrimmage and Oklahoma has the advantage there.

And by far and large you all are riding with OU in this one.
