Week 8 Big 12 Betting Lines & Making Picks

Making our picks against the spread for week 8!

Las Vegas News Bureau

Welp, not the best week last week. We’re running a bit behind, so why dwell on it? Let’s just get to this week’s picks.

Disclaimer: Before we get started, and I cannot stress this enough, take these picks at your own risk. I don’t take the easy way out with over and unders. All picks are against the spread. That said, I am probably wrong. I could say that you would be better off taking the opposite side of these picks, but I’d probably be wrong about that too.

Oklahoma State at Texas

Texas is tired of losing to Oklahoma State in Austin. I expect this one to be close as the Longhorns try to take advantage of a couple of holes on the Cowboy’s offensive line and put Mason Rudolph under pressure.

Iowa State at Texas Tech

The battle of the most improved teams in the Big 12. However, the Red Raiders haven’t forgotten about the beat down the Cyclones gave them in Ames last year. Texas Tech will try to return the favor today.

Oklahoma at Kansas State

PICK: OU -14.5

K-State may be the most disappointing team in the Big 12. They are a shell of the team that beat Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl last year. They’ve lost the last two, and I’m not sure how much fight they have left. OU wins big.

Kansas at TCU

PICK: KU +39

Since their week one win, the Jayhawks have fallen apart. TCU might have this covered by halftime, but despite what’s on paper KU seems to keep it close against TCU. The Horned Frogs have their toughest stretch coming up, and they may try to catch their breath a bit. KU, because TCU doesn’t need to win by that much.

West Virginia at Baylor

The Mountianeers are starting to figure things out, while Baylor seems to be a team running out of answers. Despite putting up a good fight in some games, the Bears are winless. I like WVU to win by at least 14 in this one. We saw how quickly they can score last week.
