We live in a day and age where how college teams look on the football field is just as important as they perform. For the Big 12, week one was a mixed bag on both points. But while others will handle the game recaps and observations, I’m just worried about whether your team won the “first look” of the season or not.
The Longhorns went with the all-white look again. It still looks REALLY good and really clean. 4.75 stars.
The Sooners went with Red-Red-White again, and for good reason. It’s such a fantastic and classic look. 4.5 stars
I actually like the silver-white-silver MORE than their home uni combo. It’s really clean and a solid look. Some schools don’t need alternates. Kansas State is one of them. Yeah, they’re Dallas Cowboy knock-offs, but they pull them off. 4.25 stars
I used to love the all-black look. Now? I’ve seen it too often, plus this would look better with the orange pants. Also, I don’t love the helmet. 3.75 stars
It’s not the first time this season we’ve seen the Blue-White-Blue combination. It’s still pretty solid. I really don’t know why I like Kansas’ combos as much as I do. 3.5 stars
Hold on. Let me put my shades on before I look at DAMN… those are bright. The gold rush unis aren’t bad, but they are bright. The navy accents on the jerseys and helmet look good. I do like these. They’re not my favorite, but they’re fun. Especially once a year. 3.25 stars
Another new combo for the Cyclones, this time White-White-Red. It’s not their worst combo, but it’s not their best either. But… it’s not their worst. 2.75 stars
I thought Baylor’s Green-Grey-Green wasn’t great. This is just bland. At least the green pants added some color. The grey pants actually bring it down a notch. What happened to Baylor? Their uniforms used to be so fun. 2.25 stars
